Summary of “Amelia Bedelia”

The story”Amelia Bedelia” talks about a maidservant, Amelia. One day, Mrs. Roger asked her to finish a list of works before they back. But she mistook all the things because of puns. Mrs. Roger saw the messy house and very angry when she came home, he wanted to fire her, but Mr. Roger prevented her since Amelia baked a nice lemon pie. Amelia stayed the home in the end due to a pie.

My favorite part of this story is when she mistook the meaning and made rooms messy, the story is interesting because of the puns. I also like the happy ending because it develops dramatically.

After reading the story, I think everyone should do his forte best like Amelia because it will make our future life more meaningful. And we will be happy and less tired if we take a smooth and easy-going in manners but highly principled attitude in daily life to our surroundings.

Summary of Luka

The song sang by Suzanne described an abused boy, Luka. The boy suffered many distressed pain. He didn’t live in a felicitous family, his father treated him badly. The song represented the feelings of Luka delicately. ”I live the floor upstairs you.” The sentence let audiences feel that Luka is familiar to them. By doing like that, the song wants to appeal to people: there are many abused children like “Luka” just near by us. We should not abuse children and keep watch for those abused children.

The article “Changing Roles: Stay-at –Home Dads” talks about roles of gender have changed in recent years. Gender roles are above suspicion in the early days, but it absolutely varies in these latter years. Bring up children is no longer mothers’ duty; fathers do not only support family but stay home for child rearing. Today, fathers also played an important role in children’s development. Studies also show that fathers have certain contribution to society by rear children at home. But raising children is not gender-specific duties, both fathers and mothers are responsible to children. Parents are essential to children’s education at present. If parents want to children grow up robustly and keep a companionate family, they obligate to balance roles to rear children.

The book "Piggybook" talks about the importance of division of labor. When a woman has to work outside and do all of the house work for her husband and children every day, she must wipe out. People always think it is right that a mother does all the house works by herself. But it is extremely wrong, the family members should not to do nothing and just wait someone to clear all of the house works. We ought to help to do something for family since we are the member of family. In this way, we can keep a harmonious and happily family.

My Favorite Song

Last year, I attended my cousin’s wedding; there was a screen on the stage, played with a melodious song. I was attracted as I heard the song. “Wow, it’s good-listening.” I thought. Although the lyrics was common but the melody was amazing for me. I really liked the song, so I surf the Internet to search the information about it as soon as I got home.

The song “Pretty Boy” was sang by M2M. It described a girl fell in love deeply with a pretty boy; she enchanted in the world of she made and just think all the things of the boy all day long, I think everyone must underwent such a period. The affection of the girl’s is analogous to puppy love; the song described the feelings of falling love delicately.

“Oh my pretty pretty boy I love you. Like I never ever loved no one before you.” this is the chorus of the song. In the song, it used “pretty” instead of handsome or beautiful because pretty is beauty of appearance, and it use two ”pretty” to emphasize how perfect the boy was, I think the boy must be an ideal lover for this girl.

I like the melody of the song most because it full of feelings. When I heard song at the first time, the melody struck my chord indeed. About Me

Last summer vacation was very different for me because in the vacation I’d already 18 years old and I’d become a freshman. Now, I have to be independent, brave, and responsible to get with the surroundings of University.

Although my constellation is the Leo, but my individuality all does not like with the Leo. The Leo should be brave but I’m chicken; The Leo should be responsible but I afraid of cumbrance. My only personality like the Leo is hot tempered, often I was assailed by some details. Because of that, I also was in a bit of a mood at short intervals. Since I’ve be a freshman, I really hope I can get out of defects and become more mature.

There are many practical English classes in this semester such as English Dialogue, Journalistic English, and English Composition. English Dialogue can drill my pronunciation and ability of dialogue; Journalistic English can extend my horizons. English Composition can cultivate my skills of expression. English expression is quite a problem in my learning because I always can’t come up with adaptable words and grammar when I writing English composition. I really anticipate that I can improve my English skills by these courses, and I hope that I can reading, speaking and writing fluently before long.
